Arrest Made After Man Killed Outside Pub

A Melbourne man is in custody following a fatal incident outside a pub in the city's inner west. The altercation, which began inside the Courthouse Hotel in Footscray, spilled onto the street on Sunday evening.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Nicholson Street, near Irvine Street, at approximately 7:45 PM. They found a 25-year-old man from South Yarra with serious injuries behind the pub. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after their arrival.

Detectives launched a homicide investigation into the suspicious death. On Monday, police arrested a 37-year-old man from Williamstown at Yarraville Railway Station. The suspect, believed to be known to the victim, was taken into custody around 8:30 PM. Charges are expected to be laid on Tuesday.
