Gang rapist Skaf charged with 24 drug offences in Sydney

Convicted gang rapist Mohammad Skaf has been arrested in Sydney and charged with nearly two dozen alleged drug offences, marking his return to legal trouble after completing a lengthy prison sentence.

Arrest and Charges

New South Wales police confirmed that two men and a woman will face court on Thursday over their alleged involvement in a large-scale drug supply scheme. The arrests followed the execution of search warrants in Sydney's southwest overnight.

During multiple searches in Greenacre, police seized large quantities of drugs, including cocaine, approximately $245,000 in cash, a vehicle, and other items. Skaf, 42, has been charged with 24 offences, comprising 22 counts of supplying a prohibited drug, one count of knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime, and one count of knowingly directing the activities of a criminal group.

He has been refused bail and was scheduled to appear before Bankstown Local Court later on Thursday. Police stated that investigations are ongoing.

Background

Skaf gained notoriety in 2000 when he was convicted for his involvement in the gang rapes of at least six schoolgirls in Sydney, alongside his brother, Bilal Skaf. He was sentenced to 23 years in prison and was released on parole in 2021. His parole expired in 2024 at the conclusion of his sentence.

The case has drawn significant media attention due to Skaf's criminal history and the severity of the new charges. Police continue to investigate potential connections to broader drug networks in the region.
