An alleged knifeman has been arrested following a machete attack in Sydney's west that left a 45-year-old man with stab wounds to the head and hand. The incident occurred at a home on Childs Street in Lidcombe just before 11pm on Tuesday.
Victim Hospitalised in Stable Condition
The victim was taken to hospital in a stable condition, according to NSW Police. Officers at the scene arrested a 44-year-old man, whose hands were covered in paper bags as he was led away by police. Investigators believe a third man was involved but fled before authorities arrived.
Manhunt Underway for Third Suspect
Police have launched a manhunt for the outstanding suspect, described as being of Asian appearance. He was last seen wearing a black jumper, dark tracksuit pants, and glasses. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The attack has shocked the local community, with residents reporting a heavy police presence in the area overnight. Police are yet to determine a motive for the assault, and investigations are ongoing.
