Woman arrested for alleged car theft in Kambah

ACT Policing has arrested a woman for allegedly stealing a car from a home in the Canberra suburb of Kambah. The arrest was made on Tuesday following a report of a stolen vehicle.

Incident Details

Police allege that the woman, aged 34, stole a white 2018 Toyota Corolla from a residence on Kambah Village Drive on Monday. The vehicle was reported missing later that day.

Officers located the car on Tuesday afternoon in a nearby street, and the woman was taken into custody without incident. She is expected to face charges of motor vehicle theft.

Police Response

Detective Acting Inspector John Smith said that the quick response from the community and police helped resolve the matter swiftly. “We thank the public for their vigilance in reporting suspicious activity,” he said.

The woman was refused bail and will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Police are continuing their investigations and urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
