Inspired Unemployed Hails Perth as Best in Australia

Podcasters Praise Western Australia

Beloved Aussie podcasters The Inspired Unemployed have just gained a new legion of fans out west, with irreverent duo Jack Steele and Matt Ford labelling Perth's residents the “best people in Australia.”

In a recent clip from their podcast, the well-travelled east coast pair hailed the humour and easygoing nature of those on the other side of the country.

“I’ll talk about Perth,” Steele began, “I think they’re the best people in Australia.”

“I think Perth people are the actual best people in Australia in terms of personality. They’re just rugged, they’re raw, they say it how it is.”

Down-to-Earth Appeal

Steele's praise for the west continued. “And they’re down to Earth, which I love,” he added.

“They are good people,” Ford affirmed.

“Every Perth person I’ve met, from WA, is just good people,” Steele tripled down.

Fans React

Unsurprisingly, hoards of the content creators’ Perth-based fans arrived in the comments and chanted “west is best” as they lapped up the praise.

Even the West Coast Eagles chimed in with an “Ooooh yeah, West is best!”

“I am glad to be from Perth! So good you have had an experience here… we have some of the most beautiful beaches places to go,” one fan added.

“Bogan 😂 we fancy,” another teased.

From Tradies to Influencers

The former tradies — who boast more than 2.5m followers on Instagram — emerged during COVID, amassing a following through their viral parodies on everyday life, mateship and work.

They’ve since launched their travel platform Arrival, a regular podcast, and their Better Beer brand among other creative endeavours.
