Emergency Response to Rural Quad Bike Incident
A woman is fighting for her life after a serious quad bike rollover on a property in regional Victoria. The incident occurred on Monday morning in the small town of Waaia, approximately 30 minutes north of Shepparton.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was herding cattle on Centre Road when she was thrown from the vehicle. A passerby discovered the injured woman at approximately 8:15 am and immediately alerted emergency services.
Major Medical Response Deployed
The remote location triggered a significant emergency response. Paramedics from both Advanced Life Support (ALS) and the Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) unit were dispatched to the scene. They were supported by the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS).
After being assessed and stabilised at the scene, the woman was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. Medical authorities confirmed she sustained life-threatening upper body injuries.
Police Investigation Underway
Victoria Police have confirmed that an investigation into the circumstances of the rollover is now underway. They are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to contact Crime Stoppers.
