Cessnock City Council has announced the appointment of Natalia Cowley as its new Chief Financial Officer, a move that brings a wealth of experience in local government finance to the organisation. Ms Cowley, who previously served as the Director of Corporate Services at Maitland City Council, will step into the role effective immediately.

With over 15 years of experience in the public sector, Ms Cowley has a strong background in financial strategy, budgeting, and reporting. During her tenure at Maitland City Council, she was instrumental in implementing financial reforms that improved efficiency and transparency. Her leadership in managing multimillion-dollar budgets and her commitment to fiscal responsibility have earned her recognition among peers.

Council CEO, Andrew Bryce, expressed confidence in Ms Cowley's ability to drive financial sustainability.
