South-East Australia Braces for Cold, Rain as System Hits

Temperatures are set to plummet across Australia's south-east as a powerful weather system moves in, bringing cool conditions and widespread rainfall to multiple states. The region is bracing for a damp and chilly few days, with mild daily highs forecast for major cities from Wednesday onward.

Coolest Days Ahead

Sky News Weather Meteorologist Marina Neuman explained that the system will bring some of the coolest air seen recently. "In fact, Wednesday and Thursday are looking to bring in some of the coolest air," Neuman said. "We have the system moving in full force across Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and New South Wales ongoing throughout our Wednesday. Of course, wind chill is going to make things feel even cooler."

Cool daily highs are expected across the south-east, including in Adelaide and Melbourne. Neuman also noted that widespread rainfall would likely move into the region from Wednesday, further contributing to the temperature drop. "That is going to help to drop temperatures," she added.
