Hunter's Banlaw Wins 2025 HMA Export and Supply Chain Excellence Award
Banlaw wins Export Excellence at 2025 HMA

In a significant triumph for the region's industrial sector, Hunter-based company Banlaw has secured a prestigious victory at the 2025 Hunter Manufacturing Awards (HMA). The firm was named the winner in the highly competitive Excellence in Export and Supply Chain category, marking a major team achievement.

A Testament to Perseverance and Values

Banlaw's marketing manager, Harrison Whitfeld, described the win as a massive acknowledgement of the company's persistent hard work. He emphasised that the award validates the company's decision to stick to its core values, regardless of fluctuating economic conditions.

"The HMA is the most prestigious award in the industry," Whitfeld said. "It's been a while since we've taken one home, so it's another proof for our team that we have what it takes to reach our ambitious, if daunting, goals."

Global Ambitions Rooted in the Hunter

Operating since the 1980s, Banlaw has built its reputation on a core mission: to create the world's best fluid management solutions. The company helps various industries gain complete control over high-value fluids, thereby resolving critical safety, security, and financial risks.

From its main facility in the Hunter Valley, Banlaw produces an entire ecosystem of hardware, software, and service capabilities. These products are relied upon across diverse sectors, including:

  • Mining
  • Ports and Rail
  • Agriculture and Transport

Its global footprint extends across the United States, Australia, Europe, Asia, and the Americas. A key to this international success has been the company's pioneering work in Fluid Intelligence, a holistic framework for managing fluid contact and risk within a safe and smart system. Other leading products in their portfolio include the ResTrack Fuel Management System and the SecureFill AutoID system.

Leveraging the 'Made in Australia' Brand

Harrison Whitfeld highlighted the power of the 'Made in Australia' brand on the international stage. "'Made in Australia' is a powerful brand internationally and we're proud to build on that legacy together," he stated.

Central to this ethos is the company's long-standing dedication to local manufacturing and sourcing. "We're extremely proud of our supply chain team," Whitfeld commented. "It comes with its challenges but we're able to participate in building a strong industrial economy in the region, which is something we value."

He attributed the company's success fundamentally to its people, noting a special quality in the Hunter region's workforce. "We have world class machinists, engineers and trades professionals kindly lending their skills and experience to build the best fluid management equipment in the industry," he said.

The company also extended special thanks to Sharon Foster and Kutay Kesim from InvestmentNSW and Brenda Read from Austrade, acknowledging that their efforts were instrumental in helping Banlaw leverage a global network of contacts and resources.

With this award validating its strategies, Banlaw is now embarking on what it describes as a "no-stops express trip to take over." Its future mission is clear: to become the global choice for fluid management. While already well-established in mining, the company is actively seeking to deepen its involvement in other sectors such as agriculture, forestry, civil, and defence.
