MetalsGrove Finds 583ppb Gold in West African Soil Samples

MetalsGrove Announces High-Grade Gold Discovery in West African Soil Samples

MetalsGrove Mining has unveiled a significant gold discovery from its Zuénoula permit in Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa, with soil geochemical sampling yielding a peak result of 583 parts per billion (ppb) gold at the Fifty-Five prospect. This standout hit has elevated the Fifty-Five target to the top priority for exploration at the Zuénoula project, marking a major advancement in the company's efforts in the region.

Expanding Exploration Zones and Anomalous Trends

The impressive 583ppb gold result is situated near the center of a 3.3-kilometre-long, northeast-trending corridor that includes seven additional soil geochemical hits exceeding 20ppb gold, with the anomaly appearing open to the northeast. In March, MetalsGrove initiated a district-scale soil sampling program that initially identified the Fifty-Five area as a secondary priority target. The latest fire-assay results have now delineated seven separate prospect areas across Zuénoula.

Beyond the previously highlighted Fifty-Five, Central, and South-East prospects, the company has prioritized four new zones: Eastern, Rouge, Konezra, and South-West. Each of these areas exhibits one or more soil anomalies above 30ppb gold from wide-spaced sampling, underscoring the project's broad potential.

Strong Results from Central Prospect and Future Plans

While the Fifty-Five prospect captured attention, the nearby Central Prospect, located about one kilometre to the south, has also shown robust results. A new, emphatic 148ppb gold response was confirmed from previous 400-metre-by-400 metre infill sampling within a broader anomalous area. MetalsGrove's managing director and CEO, Lijun Yang, stated that these findings represent a significant step forward, highlighting the strong district-scale potential of the project.

Building on this momentum, MetalsGrove plans to intensify exploration efforts. The company will tighten the grid at Fifty-Five to a 200-metre by 200-metre infill spacing across 12 square kilometres. This higher-density sampling will be combined with a more open 400-metre by 400-metre scout grid covering an estimated 11 square kilometres, aimed at extending the anomaly further northeast, following the regional trend of Birimian greenstones.

Advanced Surveys and Additional Prospects

More recently, MetalsGrove launched integrated regolith mapping and a high-resolution drone-based LiDAR survey over priority zones to enhance structural interpretation and improve confidence in gold distribution under cover. The regolith mapping is nearing completion, and in response to the new high-grade results, the company has expanded its drone-borne LiDAR-orthophoto survey northwards from the Central area to include the Fifty-Five prospect.

Results are concentrated along the southern and eastern borders of the permit area, but a new prospect in the southwest corner has shown promising signs. Five soil sample responses ranging from 20 to 59ppb gold, spaced 1 to 3.5km apart, sit directly on the main structural strike line that extends northeast through the Fifty-Five and Central anomalous zones. This cluster indicates potential for further exploration, with close-spaced sampling recommended to confirm mineralisation controls.

Market Implications and Future Validation

Well-executed soil geochemistry serves as a sensitive guide to potentially mineralised areas, especially in undisturbed ground. However, the ultimate validation will come from infill sampling to pinpoint targets and subsequent drilling. The market eagerly awaits the next round of infill results, as drilling will ultimately test the exploration methods employed.

Once these steps confirm compelling subsurface targets, MetalsGrove can leverage these insights to expand exploration in similar terrains. The company's growing portfolio of prospects and fresh digital data positions it well to maintain momentum at Zuénoula, keeping the story active and promising for investors and stakeholders alike.
