Masked Men Tie Up Woman in Terrifying Artarmon Home Invasion
Sydney Home Invasion: Woman Tied Up at Knifepoint

A quiet evening on Sydney's lower north shore turned into a scene of terror when three masked men allegedly stormed a home in Artarmon, tying up one woman at knifepoint.

The Night of the Invasion

The alleged home invasion took place on Rimmington Street in Artarmon at approximately 8:30 pm on November 3. According to police reports, three men, all with their faces covered, forced their way onto the back verandah of the property. One of the intruders was allegedly armed with a knife, escalating the threat level immediately.

The assailants first encountered a 49-year-old woman, whom they allegedly restrained using cable ties, binding her hands. They also stole her mobile phone, isolating her from being able to call for help. The trio then moved further into the house where they attempted to similarly tie up a 52-year-old woman. However, in a small act of defiance amidst the chaos, this attempt was unsuccessful.

The Getaway and Police Investigation

Before fleeing the scene, the men allegedly stole a sum of cash from the house. While the incident was undoubtedly traumatic for both victims, paramedics who attended the scene assessed the two women and confirmed that neither required transportation to a hospital for treatment.

Following initial investigations, NSW Police have released crucial CCTV footage in an effort to track down the perpetrators. The footage shows a white Toyota Corolla that was seen in the area at the time of the alleged crime. The vehicle was parked on the corner of Rimmington Street and Broughton Road before it was seen travelling east on Broughton Road and then heading north onto the Pacific Highway.

Appeal for Public Assistance

Authorities are now urging the public to come forward with any information that could aid the investigation. Police are particularly interested in any additional CCTV or dashcam footage from the Artarmon area that might capture the white Toyota Corolla or the movements of the three men. Anyone with information is strongly encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers to assist in apprehending those responsible for this frightening ordeal.
