Five Chinese tourists killed in Bali minibus crash

A tragic traffic accident in Bali has claimed the lives of five Chinese tourists after the minibus they were travelling in veered off the road and plunged into a ravine.

Details of the Fatal Incident

The accident occurred as the group was heading to the Buleleng region in northern Bali. According to local police chief Widwan Sutadi, the driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid a collision with another car.

"As the driver was unable to control the vehicle, he swerved it to the left to crash into a tree and try to avoid a collision," Mr Sutadi told Reuters. "But the minibus was thrown off and plunged into the shallow ravine." The police report also cited the driver's lack of caution when negotiating a turn and descending the road as a contributing factor.

Aftermath and Emergency Response

The devastating crash resulted in five fatalities and left 13 other passengers injured. The entire group was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. The driver, who was also injured in the fatal crash on November 14, 2025, survived the incident.

This event serves as a sobering reminder for all travellers, including Australians frequently visiting Bali, about the potential dangers on some regional roads. The community and authorities are now dealing with the consequences of this severe traffic accident.
