Perth influencer Em Davies has publicly denied online speculation that she and her husband, Joel Gambin, have separated. In a direct Instagram statement on Monday, Davies declared that the couple has never broken up or even come close to doing so.
Origin of the Rumours
The rumours began after Amber Paul, founder of Influencer Updates Australia, discussed possible break-up signs on her podcast. Paul told her 68,000 Instagram followers that the couple had been "posting some very cryptic things this week that imply they’ve broken up, but then they’re saying they haven’t." She pointed to a song Joel shared on his Instagram Story with lyrics about a relationship ending, including lines like "I need to be alone now" and "I’m better on my own." Additionally, Em had reposted a story saying "being single is okay as long as you have a bff to harass." However, Paul noted that Joel later posted a photo of Davies labelling her as his "wife."
Em Davies' Response
Davies took to Instagram to immediately shut down the rumours. "Just clearing this up because I’ve had some people send me this nonsense," she began. "Joel and I have never broken up. We’ve never separated. We’ve never even been close to breaking up. Please stop making up storylines based on assumptions. There’s no subliminal messages in the music we share or the quotes we like. We’re very happily married and very much in love and always have been." She ended with a dig at those fuelling the rumour mill: "Just imagine being that bored... yikes."
Background on the Couple
The Gambins have been together for more than a decade and tied the knot in February 2025 after getting engaged in New York two years prior. They welcomed their daughter Isla in 2024.
