From her Texas ranch to the Wheatbelt, WA-raised supermodel Nicole Trunfio has lauded her return home to Merredin with her children for a sacred family tradition she holds dearer than Christmas or Easter.
A Homecoming to Remember
The 40-year-old mother, podcaster, and entrepreneur lives in the southern US state with American musician and husband Gary Clark Jr, raising three kids Zion, Gia, and Ella. Proving she’s never lost the passion for getting her hands dirty, and looking good doing it, Trunfio posted several images on social media depicting herself riding a dirt bike, and helping her children make Italian-style sausages from scratch.
“I’ve been waiting years for this trip, to bring my babies home to Australia and introduce my children to a family tradition that began long before I was born,” she wrote. “This is sausage weekend, with my gigantic Italian family. Immigrants that pride themselves for being hardworking, self made tradesmen, who look you in the eye when they shake your hand, do what they say they’re going to do, and mean it.”
A Star from the Wheatbelt
As one of WA’s most successful modelling exports, boasting campaigns with Dior and Chanel, the model made waves on the scene at 16 when she won the now-defunct Search For A Supermodel reality show in 2002. She is also the founder of maternity brand Bumpsuit, a label new mother Hailey Bieber considers a pregnancy must-have.
The West Aussie told STM in late 2025 she feels her high-achieving career has been a blur. “It feels like it happened in the blink of an eye,” she said. “I was holding on to the edge of my seat, trying to do the best that I could and not mess anything up.”
Trunfio’s return to Merredin highlights her deep connection to her roots and the importance of family traditions, even as she navigates a glamorous international career.
