Miria Kake, 37, and Luke Waaka, 38, first crossed paths 22 years ago in Otara, South Auckland, New Zealand. Their love story culminated in a memorable proposal on a beach foreshore near a shipwreck in Rarotonga in 2025, where Luke knelt and asked for Miria's hand in marriage.
Wedding Venue and Preparations
The Barrett Lane homestead in the Swan Valley served as the perfect backdrop for the bride and her bridal party to prepare and enjoy the open nature views on their special day.
Sacred Prayer and Haka
A sacred prayer service took place the night before the wedding. During the ceremony, the couple's son Auguston led a powerful haka with his whanau (extended family), adding a deeply cultural and emotional element to the celebration.

Bride Miria found her dream dress at LUV Bridal, while groom Luke purchased his suit from Connor.
