Australian pop star Delta Goodrem found herself at the centre of an awkward live television moment after a fan's inappropriate sign appeared onscreen during her appearance on Good Morning Britain.
Awkward Moment on Live TV
The 41-year-old singer was speaking to hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls about her recent time in Vienna for Eurovision when the interview took an unexpected turn. The conversation then shifted to Goodrem's appearance the night before at Scottish pop icon Lulu's concert at the Royal Albert Hall, held as part of the singer's 60-year career celebrations.
As footage from the performance played behind her, a bright pink fan sign bearing the C-word briefly appeared in the corner of the screen. Goodrem, visibly stumbling over her words, continued discussing her upcoming UK tour dates. Neither Reid nor Balls acknowledged the expletive, and the interview proceeded without interruption.
Apology Issued
After the broadcast, Good Morning Britain issued an apology in a statement to Wales Online. "We'd like to apologise to any viewers offended by the accidental appearance of the expletive which was featured in concert footage," a spokesperson said. "As soon as the error was discovered it was corrected and didn't appear in the +1 and ITVX versions."
Goodrem is set to release her eighth studio album, Pure, on November 6. The incident, though brief, sparked discussions about live broadcasting risks and the importance of screen monitoring during interviews.
