Travis Scott Faces Backlash for Forcing John Summit Off Stage
Travis Scott Slammed for Forcing John Summit Off Stage

Travis Scott is facing major backlash after he was caught on video forcing another artist off the stage so he could perform. The incident occurred when Scott arrived two hours late for his own gig, prompting John Summit, who was performing at his scheduled time, to be forcibly removed from the stage.

According to fans in attendance, Scott missed his scheduled set time, so Summit began his performance as planned. However, when Scott eventually arrived, he decided to force himself onto the stage with his entourage. Video footage shows Scott climbing over the DJ decks during Summit's set, effectively ending it prematurely.

The incident sparked major debate online, with some fans blaming the venue and organizers for allowing the situation to happen, while others felt Scott should have waited until Summit finished his set. Taking to social media after the gig, Summit voiced his frustrations, describing the gig as "insane" and "out of control."

"My show got shut down due to another artist showing up late and forcing his way onto the stage," Summit wrote. "Love you all that were there to dance and have a good time." He also shared another clip of the incident with a caption thanking his production director John Fink for "holding it down during the chaos."

Fans rushed to social media to criticize Scott's behavior. One commented, "As much as Summit's crowds tend to suck, Summit himself is a decent human being. Guy doesn't deserve to be treated that way by one of the worst people in recent music industry news." Another wrote on Reddit: "The entitlement is appalling and I'm sure the two artists could have worked something out so that Travis Scott could still perform."

"My opinion of Travis Scott truly cannot go lower, like legit he is among the trashiest humans alive. Boo this man!" remarked another. While a fourth insisted: "After what he allowed to happen at Astroworld … why is anyone surprised by Scott's behaviour. I'm sad for Summit he doesn't deserve that." A fifth added: "Growing up as such a fan of hip-hop, it truly saddens me how toxic the culture has become nowadays."
