Delta Goodrem Advances to Eurovision Grand Final with Stunning Performance
Delta Goodrem Reaches Eurovision Grand Final

Australian superstar Delta Goodrem has progressed through to the grand final of Eurovision after a showstopping performance on Thursday evening in Vienna, Austria.

Goodrem delivered one of the night's most spectacular moments, taking to a sparkling gold piano for a dramatic performance of her soaring ballad Eclipse.

Bathed in golden light and surrounded by a cinematic stage production, Goodrem commanded the arena as she powered through the emotional anthem, before the performance reached a breathtaking finale.

In a stunning theatrical moment, the singer was slowly elevated high into the air atop the glittering piano, leaving the crowd roaring as she belted out the final notes of the song above the stage.

The former Neighbours star, who is arguably the best-known act in the song contest for 2026, was accompanied by a harpist.

Goodrem released Eclipse as a single in March, and it has reached No. 1 on the Australian AIR Independent Singles Chart.

Singers from the so-called "big four" — the UK, Germany, Italy, and France — automatically qualify for the final, with their broadcasters contributing the most to Eurovision financially.

Austria also performed overnight and has since qualified for the final.

The announcement marks the first time since 2023 that Australia has made it to the grand final of Eurovision.

This year's edition of the song contest, traditionally a good-natured celebration of pop music and high camp, has been marred by controversy as several countries boycotted over Israel's participation.

The public broadcasters of five countries — Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland and Slovenia — oppose Israel's involvement because of the country's ongoing military offensive in the Gaza Strip in response to the Hamas-led attack of October 7, 2023.

The final of Eurovision is scheduled for Sunday morning AEST.
