A West Coast Eagles superfan has taken his admiration for young star Harley Reid to an extraordinary level, permanently etching the player's autograph onto his body.
Fan's Unique Tribute
The fan, named Cooper, has become an internet sensation after having Reid's signature tattooed on his lower leg as his very first piece of ink. Perth tattoo studio Capone Ink shared the story on social media, showing Cooper getting Reid to sign his leg during an open training session before heading to the studio to make it permanent.
"Core memory = getting @westcoasteagles @harleyreid_6's signature as your very first tattoo," the studio posted. "Talk about a true fan! We're stoked to be a part of it."
Reid's Reaction
The 21-year-old Reid appears to approve of the tribute. A photo shows the young Eagle on a video call, inspecting the finished tattoo. He also commented on the post with a series of fire emojis.
Teammates, including Willem Duursma, also liked the post, showing the camaraderie within the club.
Rise to Stardom
Reid has become one of the most popular players in the AFL and one of the most recognisable athletes in Western Australia since being drafted first overall by the Eagles in 2023. His on-field prowess and charismatic personality have earned him a legion of devoted fans.
Popular Tattoo Studio
Capone Ink is well-known among AFL players. Reid, teammate Tyler Brockman, and West Coast premiership player Liam Ryan have all been inked there. Several Melbourne players, including Max Gawn and now-Fremantle star Luke Jackson, also got tattoos there after their 2021 premiership win against the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium.
