Keith Urban Breaks Social Media Silence After Nicole Kidman Divorce
Keith Urban breaks silence post-Kidman divorce

Country music star Keith Urban has made his long-awaited return to social media, breaking his online silence for the first time since news of his shocking divorce from actress Nicole Kidman emerged in September.

A Playful Return to Instagram

The Grammy-winning artist broke his social media hiatus on Sunday with a lighthearted Instagram video that saw him poking fun at his own fashion and hair choices from the 1990s. Urban had not posted on Instagram since September 27, just days before Kidman officially filed for divorce in Nashville, Tennessee on September 30.

In the playful clip from his new CBS show The Road, Urban reviews his old looks alongside fellow country singer and show producer Blake Shelton. Both musicians shared laughs while reflecting on their awkward style phases from their early days in Nashville.

Looking Back at 'Awkward Phases'

"You and I have both been in Nashville since the '90s and we went through some awkward phases," Shelton jokes in the video before revealing the first photo of Urban with his long, straight blond locks paired with a distinctive vest.

Urban responded with laughter, admitting this was his actual appearance when he first arrived in the United States. "I can't understand why I wasn't getting signed," the musician quipped about his unconventional look.

The video then shifts to a country music magazine feature from the 2000s, showing both artists with their signature long hairstyles from that era. Shelton then delivered the punchline, suggesting to Urban: "It may be time to change it up a little bit. I mean, you've had the same hair since 2001, man."

Life Continues Amid Personal Changes

While Urban has maintained his High and Alive World music tour throughout this period, his social media activity had completely ceased until this recent post. Meanwhile, Kidman has continued her public appearances, including attending Paris Fashion Week.

The divorce filings, obtained by TMZ, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the separation. According to the documents, Kidman is seeking primary custody of their two daughters - 17-year-old Sunday and 14-year-old Faith - though she is not requesting child support from Urban.

The wealthy couple, who married in 2006, both listed their gross individual incomes as "exceeding $100,000 per month" in the court documents.

Urban's new show The Road, which provided the content for his return to social media, follows twelve emerging musicians as they compete to become opening acts for the celebrated singer.
