A man has been hospitalised with serious facial injuries following a violent altercation at The Lakelands Tavern in Lakelands, south of Mandurah, late on Friday night.
Police and emergency services were called to the venue on Lake Valley Drive just before midnight following reports of a large fight involving multiple patrons.
Upon arrival, officers located a man in his 30s suffering from significant facial trauma. He was treated at the scene by St John Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Royal Perth Hospital in a stable condition.
The incident is believed to have stemmed from a dispute between two groups of patrons inside the tavern. The altercation escalated quickly, spilling out into the car park where the man sustained his injuries.
Police have cordoned off the area and are conducting forensic examinations. Detectives from the Mandurah Police Station are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with mobile phone footage to come forward.
The tavern's management is cooperating fully with the investigation. A spokesperson for The Lakelands Tavern expressed concern for the injured patron and stated that they are reviewing security footage to assist authorities.
