It hasn't taken long for Mason Cox to earn the love of the Fremantle faithful, but the premiership ruck is still searching for connection off the field.

The Texas-born star moved to WA after being surprisingly let go by Collingwood last year, and now has a chance to be part of Fremantle history as they look for a club record 10th straight win on Friday.

Cox made his Dockers debut in the derby, but his two goals against Carlton the following week brought some of the loudest cheers at Optus Stadium, quickly transferring the cult status he had at the Pies to the West.

However, the 35-year-old has been less successful off the field, admitting to Pete & Kymba on 94.5 that his change of state hasn't improved his love life.

“No, seriously, put a few resumes together,” he joked. “I'm looking at the call line, and nothing has come up, so that's good.”

Although those hoping to turn Cox's head may only have a limited window, as he revealed a return to America could be on the cards.

The 2023 premiership player is a strong family man and said that if he failed to find someone before his AFL career is over, he would likely move back to be closer to his family.

“I think one of the biggest things for if I stay in Australia is whether or not I find a partner in the next few years,” he said. “I've got a contract here for the next 18 months, and like my brother's having a kid soon, so if I'm away from the family, there's got to be a decent reason to be away from the family if I'm not playing footy anymore.”
