Fremantle Dockers star Sam Switkowski and his wife Savannah have announced they are expecting their first child later this year.
Baby Switkowski on the Way
In a joint post on Instagram on Saturday, the couple shared the exciting news with a photo of themselves alongside their dog, Lenny. Savannah can be seen smiling broadly while holding an ultrasound image. The caption read, “Our family is growing. Baby Switkowski incoming!”
Teammates were quick to congratulate the pair. Jordan Clark and Luke Jackson were among the first Dockers to leave their best wishes in the comments, while Lizzie Brayshaw, wife of Andrew Brayshaw, exclaimed, “So exciting!!!” Sunrise host Natalie Barr also chimed in, writing, “Amazing news you guys!!! Thrilled for you.”
On-Field Success
The joyous update follows Switkowski’s standout performance against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium on Friday night, where he kicked three crucial goals to help secure Fremantle’s seventh consecutive victory. The forward has spent his entire AFL career with the Dockers since being drafted in 2017 with pick 73 from the Box Hill Hawks in the VFL. Over the years, he has become a key part of Freo’s forward line and a member of the leadership group.

Sam and Savannah were married in November 2024 at the Coombe Yarra Valley. Their announcement comes just weeks after fellow Docker Jordan Clark and his partner Paige McCarthy revealed they are also expecting their first child later this year.
