Taylor Momsen Hospitalised After Spider Bite on AC/DC Tour in Mexico
Actress-turned-rock singer Taylor Momsen has shared a terrifying experience from her tour in Mexico, where she was bitten by what she described as a massive spider. The former Gossip Girl star posted details on Instagram, explaining the incident occurred while she was on tour with the legendary rock band AC/DC.
Spider Venom Causes Serious Reaction
In her social media post, Momsen wrote, "So it wouldn't be an AC/DC tour if I didn't get bit... This time a massive spider decided to take a chunk out of me and its venom did a number on my system." She revealed that doctors in Mexico had to administer a shot before her performance, adding humorously, "Spider woman? Batgirl?" to reference a previous on-stage incident.
Momsen followed up with a clip showing medical treatment and photos of her leg, displaying a growing red mark from the bite. She emphasised, "Hospital today, show tomorrow, poisonous spiders are NO BUENO but the show must go on, see you tomorrow Mexico City!" demonstrating her commitment to performing despite the health scare.
Recovery and Return to Stage
The singer confirmed she spent a night in hospital but managed to return for the final Mexico show, performing with her band The Pretty Reckless as the opening act for AC/DC. She shared a video from onstage thanking the medical staff who treated her, highlighting her gratitude and resilience.
This is not the first dangerous encounter Momsen has faced while touring. Two years earlier, also during an AC/DC tour, a bat flew onstage and bit her leg, forcing her to undergo rabies shots. She later turned that incident into a running joke with fans, creating an Instagram highlight titled "Batgirl".
The recent spider bite adds to her list of tour mishaps, yet Momsen continues to push forward with her performances, showcasing her dedication to her music career and fans.
