Serious Crash in Julatten Leaves Young Woman Hospitalised
A young woman has been airlifted to hospital following a serious single-vehicle crash in Julatten, approximately 50 kilometres north of Cairns, on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the Mossman-Mount Molloy Road around 2:30 PM after reports of a car leaving the roadway and crashing.
The woman, believed to be in her 20s, sustained significant injuries and was initially treated by paramedics at the scene. Due to the severity of her condition, a rescue helicopter was dispatched to airlift her to Cairns Hospital for further treatment.
Investigation Underway
Queensland Police have confirmed that the crash is under investigation, with forensic officers attending the scene to determine the cause of the accident. Early indications suggest the vehicle may have lost control on a bend before leaving the road.
The Mossman-Mount Molloy Road was closed for several hours while emergency crews worked and investigators examined the area. Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes during the closure.
