Geelong's picturesque waterfront came alive with festive cheer on Saturday as thousands of families gathered to witness the spectacular launch of the city's iconic floating Christmas tree and enjoy the beloved Carols by the Bay event.

The event, hosted by renowned Australian entertainer Denis Walter, marked the official beginning of Christmas celebrations for the Geelong community. Saturday, November 23, 2025 will be remembered as the day when holiday spirit officially arrived in the coastal city.
