Man's Restaurant Speech on Gender Roles Sparks Viral Debate
Man's Speech on Gender Roles Sparks Viral Debate

A man has gone viral after standing on a stool in a busy restaurant and loudly declaring that men should never split the bill with women.

The Impromptu Speech

"Dear Europeans, I have to make an announcement!" the well-dressed man shouted as diners looked up from their meals, startled. The man's impromptu speech on dating etiquette quickly became the centre of attention as diners looked on.

"I have found out that in Europe, men and women split the bill!" he exclaimed. "In Asia," he said, pointing to himself, "men take care of the bill!" he declared.

Before he could continue, another man wrapped his arms around his waist and lifted him off the stool, whisking him away from the restaurant. Undeterred, the man continued and kept shouting as he was carried away. "Men take care of the bill! I will take care of your bill!"

Someone in the crowd could be heard yelling: "What the f**k are you doing!?"

The impromptu speech took an unexpected turn when two men hoisted the speaker off the stool and carried him from the restaurant as he continued to address the crowd.

Addressing the Women

The man then turned his attention to the women in the restaurant. "Any pretty ladies who want to come with me, I'm single and an Asian gentleman!" He continued his impromptu speech, shouting, "I will take care of all your bills! All the pretty ladies, come over here!"

"Hey, hey!" he finally acknowledged the men carrying him away, who appeared amused by the antics before setting him down outside the restaurant.

Online Debate

The clip quickly sparked debate online, with many divided over whether men should be expected to pay. "I never understood why European men are like that! Is it a cultural thing?" one person asked. "This in fact is very, very true," another agreed. "That's right, men must take care of the bill. That's the responsibility as a man," a third wrote.

Others disagreed. "No, it's not. Only if you believe in sexist gender roles," one user replied. "Split the bill = friendzoned," another claimed. "Whoever who invited should pay, that's why it's called 'inviting'," a commenter argued.

Many viewers were also distracted by the reactions of the men carrying the self-appointed spokesman away. "The older gentleman looks like he's being playful but the younger dude looks so mad and serious," one person observed.
