James Handy, the veteran actor known for roles in Top Gun: Maverick and Jumanji, was allegedly stabbed to death by his girlfriend's son on Wednesday morning. The 81-year-old actor was found unconscious in his front yard after police received a chilling 911 call.

Details of the Incident

The Los Angeles Police Department received a concerning 911 call at around 9:30 am on Wednesday. The caller made an alarming statement: "I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin." Officers were dispatched to Handy's home in Tarzana, where they discovered the critically injured actor lying in his front yard. He was rushed to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The suspect, identified as 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, the son of Handy's girlfriend, was apprehended at the scene. According to an LAPD news release, Gledhill waved down police and told them he was the one they were looking for. He allegedly lived at the home with his mother and Handy. His motive remains unclear. Gledhill has been arrested, transported to Van Nuys Jail, and his bail is set at $2 million US (approximately $2.8 million).
