Blake Lively made her first Met Gala appearance in four years, but her walk up the iconic steps was marked by a tense exchange with photographers. The actress wore a 2006 archival Versace gown described as a 'sunrise and sunset watercolour', featuring a massive train that required assistance from staff.
As she prepared to pose on the stairs, Lively struggled to adjust the heavy dress while paparazzi shouted for her attention. She responded by pointing a finger and telling them to 'hold on', but the photographers continued calling out, including demands for an 'over the shoulder' shot.
After managing to arrange her gown, Lively apologized and explained that her team had 'worked so hard on this I have to make it look nice'. She later told interviewer La La Anthony that wearing the gown was 'an honour' and that her bag featured watercolour artwork by her four children with Ryan Reynolds, which brought her 'comfort'.
Lively's appearance came hours after she settled a long-running lawsuit with former colleague Justin Baldoni over sexual harassment allegations on the set of It Ends With Us. The civil case was settled two weeks before trial, with both parties issuing a joint statement expressing hope for closure and a respectful environment online.
