Police have launched a public appeal for information after a violent incident at a major Perth shopping centre, where a teenager was stabbed and witnesses reported seeing a suspect with a machete.
Violence Erupts in Shopping Centre
The disturbance occurred inside the Cockburn Gateway shopping centre in the southern suburb of Success on Wednesday afternoon. Around 1:30pm, a 17-year-old male was attacked with an edged weapon, sending shoppers into a panic.
Officers who were on patrol in the area responded swiftly to the scene. They found the injured teenager and secured the area. Emergency services from St John WA arrived and transported the victim to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment.
Authorities have confirmed the young man sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
