WA's Summer Forecast: Hotter Days Ahead After Wet Winter
WA's scorching summer forecast revealed

West Australians can finally pack away their umbrellas and prepare for a season of sunshine, with the Bureau of Meteorology releasing a long-range forecast promising a hot and largely dry summer.

A Shift from a Soggy Winter to a Scorching Summer

This welcome prediction comes after Western Australia endured one of its wettest winters on record. The Bureau's statement, issued on November 27, 2025, outlines key weather trends leading into Christmas and the new year.

Summer rainfall is likely to be below average for large parts of the state, though the south could experience anything from above, below, or near-average conditions. The more definitive news is about the rising mercury.

Warmer Days and Nights on the Horizon

The Bureau has indicated that summer days and nights are likely to be warmer than usual throughout most of Western Australia. Specific regions face an increased risk of extreme heat.

There is a heightened chance of unusually high daytime temperatures in the northern half of WA. Meanwhile, residents in both the north and the south-west should prepare for unusually warm nights.

Bush Fire Warning and Immediate Perth Forecast

Alongside the seasonal outlook, the Bureau reminded West Australians that the period from October to April is the peak season for bush fires. This is particularly true for western and southern parts of the state.

This long-range forecast arrives as Perth braces for its hottest day in eight months. The city's temperatures are set to climb dramatically over the coming days, culminating in a predicted 38°C on Monday.

Meteorologist Angus Hines confirmed the warming trend, noting, "It's starting to feel like summer. We have had a whole lot of ups and downs this year, and it definitely hasn't been as sunnier as previous years but this time of year you do start to see the temperature getting warmer."
