A young man has tragically passed away in hospital, two days after suffering a serious crash while riding his BMX at a popular skate park in Adelaide's northeast.

Emergency services were urgently called to the Golden Grove skate park, located on The Golden Way, around 2pm on Thursday afternoon. The incident involved a 27-year-old man from the suburb of Pooraka, who came off his BMX bicycle while riding within the park facilities.
Despite sustaining injuries in the fall, the rider did not seek immediate hospital treatment. He only attended a medical facility several hours after the accident occurred.

South Australian Police have officially confirmed that the man died in hospital on Saturday. This heartbreaking development has left family and friends in mourning.
Friends have since identified the deceased as Sam Inwood, describing him as a vibrant young man full of life. He had recently celebrated his birthday and was actively enjoying his daily experiences.

In a deeply emotional Facebook post, friend Krystal Pugsley shared that the past few months spent with Sam in their travel group had been "the best" of their lives. The group, known as the Mystery group, was created on Facebook to provide friendship and family-based travel trips throughout South Australia.
"We have got sad news — our beloved friend Sam Inwood passed away today at 2.36pm," she wrote. "We all just met him and were taking him out having adventures… having him a part of our lives was the best few months of our lives."
Krystal mentioned that Sam's best friend had remained by his side through the night and into the following day. She invited friends to gather at The Bucket, a car park popular with local riders, to remember and honour him.
"I'm very heartbroken and I feel like everyone will be broken right now," she expressed. "Rest in peace Sam."
