Television personality Dezi Madafferi is sharing a straightforward pasta recipe that proves weeknight dinners don't need to be complicated. Best known as one of the winners of Plate of Origin as part of Team Greece, Madafferi is bringing her love of hearty, family-style cooking to The Morning Show kitchen with an easy sausage and broccoli pasta packed with flavour.
Simple Ingredients for a Flavourful Meal
Using Italian pork sausages, fresh broccoli, and a creamy Parmesan sauce, the dish comes together quickly and is designed to get dinner on the table with minimal fuss. It's a comforting midweek meal the whole family is sure to enjoy.
Ingredients
- 500g Italian pork sausages
- 1 broccoli head
- Pasta of choice
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
- 3/4 cup chicken stock
- Knob of butter
- Salt and pepper
- Drizzle of olive oil
- 2 spring onions sliced (optional)
- Extra cheese to garnish
Method
- Boil pasta in salted water.
- Add a drizzle of olive oil into a nonstick pan.
- Remove casing from the pork sausages.
- Add into the pan using your hands to break the sausage up into bite-size pieces or smaller and sauté.
- Cut the broccoli florets into small pieces.
- Add into the pan with the pork sausages.
- Add stock, butter, and Parmesan cheese; mix well.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Add the pasta and mix well. Serve and enjoy.
