Yummy Snack Foods Recall Over Undeclared Allergens

Major Supermarket Snack Recall Issued Nationwide

A popular range of snack mixes has been urgently pulled from shelves across Australia due to a serious labelling oversight that could pose a risk to consumers with specific food allergies. Yummy Snack Foods has initiated a voluntary recall for two of its prominent products after discovering they were distributed without proper allergen declarations.

Affected Products and Key Details

The recall specifically targets the 400g packets of Yummy Fruit and Nut Barbi-Q mix with best before dates ranging from April 2, 2025, to November 25, 2025. This action applies only to packets that do not feature a label declaring the presence of cashews and milk.

Additionally, 500g packets of Yummy Fruit and Nut Millionaires mix are also being recalled. This affects products with best before dates from April 24, 2025, to November 25, 2025, that fail to warn consumers about the presence of cashews, almonds, and macadamias.

Consumer Safety and Official Advice

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has issued a formal alert, warning that consuming these products could trigger a reaction in people with relevant allergies or intolerances. Consumers who have a cashew, almond, macadamia, and/or milk allergy or intolerance should not eat this product.

The official guidance is clear: affected customers should return the products to their point of purchase to receive a full refund. Anyone who has consumed the product and has health concerns is strongly advised to seek immediate medical advice. This product recall highlights the critical importance of accurate food labelling for public safety.

The recalled finger foods were widely available at independent retailers, including IGA stores in NSW, ACT, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, WA, and the NT. Drakes supermarkets in South Australia and Queensland have also sold these products.
