Dramatic Rescue in Early Hours

A young driver is fighting serious injuries after a terrifying single-vehicle crash in Herdsman in the early hours of Monday morning. The incident, which saw the car burst into flames, required a dramatic rescue by police officers who were first on the scene.

Car Erupts in Flames After Hitting Tree

The crash occurred just after 2am on Monday, November 17, 2025. According to a police spokeswoman, a silver Toyota Camry sedan was travelling on Jon Sanders Drive, approximately 500 metres south of Parkland Road, when it left the roadway and collided with a tree.

The impact was severe, and the vehicle subsequently caught fire with the 23-year-old male driver trapped inside. The situation was critical, with the car quickly becoming engulfed in flames.

Police Officers Launched Immediate Rescue

Officers from Scarborough Police were the first emergency responders to arrive at the fiery scene. Demonstrating immense bravery, they immediately worked to extract the trapped and injured driver from the burning wreckage.

Firefighters arrived a short time later and successfully extinguished the blaze. The driver was then rushed to Royal Perth Hospital, where he was admitted for treatment of serious injuries.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are now being conducted by officers from the road policing group north.
