Ex-Ironman Champ Launches Longevity Platform for Aussies

A former Ironman champion has launched a new online platform promising to bring the science of ageing well to everyday Australians.

Guy Leech, transitioning from elite athlete to longevity advocate, is now on a mission to change how Australians age.

“We’ve got an ageing population, nearly 10 million people are over the age of 50,” Leech said. “They don’t feel 10 foot tall and bulletproof anymore. They’re worried about their future.”

With billions being poured into supplements, scans, wellness and biohacking trends online, doctors warn the basics are being lost.

“There’s no magic bullet when it comes to health. You don’t get healthy living from a pill or an injection,” Dr Peter Larkins said. “You get it from your lifestyle habits, you get it from natural nutrition and exercise and lifestyle practices. Where there are so many non-medical people, non-qualified people, non-clinical people who are influencing health practices.”

The solution is a new online platform bringing together top medical experts to offer programs on mobility, strength and healthy lifestyles. But it also comes at a cost. The membership to the program is $24.95 a month.

Cardiologist Dr Warick Bishop, who is part of the program, says it’s a good source of information. “It really is accessible to many, many people who are looking to maximise their best health journey,” Bishop said.

However, experts say the first step should be checking with your doctor first.
