A mother has openly admitted to kicking another mother in the head during a violent altercation, asserting that her actions were in defense of her children against alleged bullying. The incident unfolded in a car park at Munno Para Shopping Centre in Adelaide back in January, leading to a chaotic scene captured on video.
Courtroom Confession and Defiant Stance
Outside Elizabeth Magistrates Court, the woman, who cannot be named for privacy reasons, spoke to journalists and confirmed her involvement in the assault. She stated, "Yes I did kick her," adding, "I kicked her underneath. I don't think I kicked her that hard." When questioned about any embarrassment over the widely circulated footage, she remained defiant, declaring, "Actually no. I'm supporting and sticking up for my children over this bullying."
Severe Injuries and Legal Proceedings
The victim of the kick was transported to hospital by ambulance, suffering from head bleeding that required six stitches. Her 15-year-old daughter also sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the brawl. Despite the severity of these injuries, the accused mother maintains she will not apologize, emphasizing her frustration with ongoing bullying issues.
She explained, "It's really bullying and there's a lot of bullying going around and I'm sorry, but mothers need to pull their kids up, because I'm telling you now I'm a mother that's had enough okay." The daughter of the accused mother also faced court on Friday, charged with aggravated assault, while the accused has requested an adjournment to seek legal advice.
School Involvement and Future Court Date
The school attended by the teenagers involved in the incident has confirmed that it has spoken to all students to address the matter. The case is scheduled to return to court in April for further proceedings, as the legal process continues to unfold.
