Newcastle's Muse Built has achieved remarkable success at the prestigious 2025 HIA Hunter Housing and Kitchen & Bathroom Awards, securing two major wins that highlight the company's dedication to superior craftsmanship and innovative design solutions.
Double Victory for Five-Year-Old Building Company
The recognition marks a significant milestone for the five-year-old construction firm as it strengthens its position in the competitive Hunter Region building landscape. Under the leadership of owner-builder Jack Burke, Muse Built claimed top honours in the 2025 Hunter Region Renovation/Addition project $1m - $2m category.
The company also celebrated another impressive win, taking home the prize for the 2025 Hunter Region Outdoor Project $150,000 - $300,000 category. These victories were further complemented by the team's achievement as finalists in both the Hunter Region Kitchen of the Year $75,000 - $100,000 and Renovation/Addition Project $750,000 - $1m categories.
Building on Previous Success
This outstanding performance continues a pattern of recognition for the emerging builder. The awards follow a breakthrough year where Jack Burke received the Highly Commended Australian Emerging Builder at the HIA-CSR Housing Awards, building on his previous achievement of winning the Hunter Region Emerging Builder award.
For the dedicated team of twelve staff at Muse Built, whose mission focuses on constructing high-quality standout custom homes throughout the Newcastle Region, these awards validate their core business philosophy and approach to residential construction.
Client-Focused Approach Drives Excellence
"This win highlights our commitment to delivering high quality homes to our clients, that not only meet expectations but exceed them," Jack Burke explained following the ceremony.
The award-winning projects demonstrated the key elements that contributed to their success: thoughtful design, innovative material use, exceptional craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. These qualities were supported by positive client relationships and consistent communication throughout the building process.
Jack attributes the company's growing reputation to their fundamental values of honesty, reliability and trustworthiness. All clients maintain direct communication with him personally during their build, ensuring transparency and collaboration from start to finish.
"We approach builds with a solution-minded approach rather than what is easy to build," Jack noted. "We build a lot of trust at the start of the relationship with our clients and remain focused on keeping a positive relationship. Constant communication onsite and collaboration with client and trades is key."
Future Vision for Newcastle Building
Looking forward, Muse Built aims to consolidate its position as a sought-after, high-quality custom home builder in the Newcastle region. The company has several exciting projects in the pipeline that promise to further demonstrate their capabilities and innovative approach to residential construction.
"We have a number of exciting homes to build in the future that we can't wait to get underway," Jack revealed. "Some that will challenge us and some that reflect a great relationship between client, architect and builder in the early stages to deliver homes that are a standout."
The builder also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the company's clients, acknowledging their essential role in the team's success. "Without them we can't build epic homes," he said, emphasising the collaborative nature of their award-winning projects.
The HIA Awards recognition not only celebrates Muse Built's current achievements but also signals their growing influence in the Hunter Region's competitive building industry, positioning them as one of Newcastle's most promising custom home builders.
