A man has been hospitalised following a serious single-vehicle crash on Woolcock Street in Townsville this morning. Emergency services rushed to the scene near the intersection with Shaw Road around 8:30 am after reports of a car leaving the roadway and striking a power pole.

The male driver, believed to be in his 30s, was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He sustained significant injuries and was transported to Townsville University Hospital (TUH) in a stable condition. Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated him at the scene before the transfer.
