A young man has been taken into custody following a violent incident in Perth's southern suburbs, where a man and a woman were both stabbed inside a Harrisdale residence.
Early Morning Attack in Harrisdale
Emergency services, including WA Police and St John WA, were urgently dispatched to the scene shortly after 2.30am on Tuesday. The call was in response to reports that two people, a man and a woman both aged in their 50s, had sustained significant injuries from an edged weapon.
Victims Rushed to Hospital
The female victim suffered multiple serious injuries and was transported to Royal Perth Hospital. Authorities have stated that she remains in a serious but stable condition. The male victim was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital under emergency conditions with lights and sirens; however, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Suspect in Custody
Police have confirmed that a man, aged in his 20s and known to the victims, was arrested at the scene. He was subsequently taken to a medical facility for assessment. A police spokesperson stated that inquiries are ongoing but assured the community that there are no concerns for the public's safety following the arrest.
