Arsenal Women have completed the signing of German forward Selina Cerci from Juventus on a three-year contract, the club announced on Monday. The 24-year-old joins the Gunners for an undisclosed fee, becoming the club's second major signing of the summer transfer window.
Cerci's Career and Playing Style
Cerci, a dynamic winger known for her pace and dribbling ability, scored 12 goals in 30 appearances for Juventus last season. She began her professional career at Bayern Munich, where she won two Bundesliga titles before moving to Italy in 2023. The German international has earned 15 caps for her country, scoring four goals.
Arsenal's Ambitions
Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall expressed his delight at the signing, stating, "Selina is a player with immense talent and potential. She adds depth and quality to our attacking options, and we believe she will thrive in the WSL." Arsenal finished third in the Women's Super League last season, six points behind champions Chelsea.
Impact on the Squad
The arrival of Cerci is expected to strengthen Arsenal's push for the title, with the club also targeting a deep run in the Champions League. She joins new signing Kyra Cooney-Cross, who arrived from Hammarby earlier this month. Cerci will wear the number 22 shirt for the upcoming season.
