Renae Reveals Why She Left Farmer Wants A Wife in Tearful Goodbye
Renae Reveals Why She Left Farmer Wants A Wife

Renae Opens Up About Her Emotional Exit

On Sunday night, Renae bid a tearful farewell to sheep farmer Dylan on Farmer Wants A Wife, making the difficult decision to leave the show. Speaking exclusively to 7NEWS.com.au, the 23-year-old from Victoria revealed what prompted her departure and why she feels she never received the closure she needed.

“Towards the end, I was just sick of waiting for Dylan to choose me,” Renae said. She claimed that several candid conversations about her concerns never aired. “I told him that I felt like he’d forgotten about me, but he would always reassure me, saying he was still interested and that he was still there,” she explained.

Unfulfilled Promises and Frustration

Despite those reassurances, Renae said she ultimately reached her limit. “You know, I think he just made a lot of promises that he didn’t follow through with and I was just fed up with being fed all this hope that he would take me on a date, or like genuinely be invested in getting to know me better.”

She added, “And you know, I truly did want to explore our connection and the spark we had on that first speed date because I think we clicked really well. So it was really difficult that he just didn’t. I think he just gave up on me.”

A Swift Departure Without Closure

At the Dungog fair, Renae told Dylan she was leaving. She said it all happened so quickly there was no time to process the decision. She hasn’t spoken to Dylan since the emotional exit and feels she didn’t get closure. “I’ve always been stuck in relationships and I just had enough of it,” Renae said.

She applied for the show after having “bad luck” in the dating world and being instantly drawn to Dylan’s profile. “I was actually in the back room on my break when I came across Dylan’s video. I was very shocked by him. I looked through his profile and saw we had so many similar values. I felt really connected to him through the profile. I just had to meet him, so I applied for the show.”

Struggling for Attention

The 23-year-old said the hardest part was trying to get the sheep farmer’s attention. “I’m on the quiet side but I think he just made me really nervous,” she said. “There were moments where I felt like no matter what I did just to be seen by him, I don’t think he really noticed me that much, which was a little bit hard.”

Renae acknowledged that Dylan had a lot to juggle during the experience and that some of the other women had bigger personalities, which may have played a role in her missing out on dates.

Supportive Sisterhood Among Contestants

Despite competing for the same man, Renae said the women formed a close bond and were incredibly supportive of one another, especially during difficult moments. “They always made sure I was included in a lot of things,” she said. “The girls were always there for me, especially towards the end. Scarlett and Ally were so kind and supportive. When Dylan chose Ally and Lily for the double date, Scarlett could tell I was really hurt. She reminded me not to let it affect my confidence and encouraged me to keep putting myself out there. We all became really close friends and supported each other.”

Farmer Wants A Wife continues Monday at 7:30pm on Seven and 7plus.
