Kimberley's decision to return to the farm after revealing a secret Facebook connection with dairy farmer Jason has sparked major drama on Farmer Wants A Wife. The 35-year-old contestant admitted she and Jason first connected in a Facebook group four years ago, but their conversation eventually fizzled out.
How Kimberley and Jason First Connected
Speaking to 7NEWS.com.au, Kimberley said she was stunned when she discovered Jason was one of the new farmers on the show. "It felt like fate," she said. "There was definitely some nerves around meeting in person for first time. But I think it was more excitement." Kimberley added that Jason was easy to talk to and exactly the person she had spoken to over the years.
Kimberley's Decision to Be Honest
Despite the tension it caused with fellow contestants Poppy and Logan, Kimberley said she planned to be open about her history with Jason. "My intention wasn't to upset anybody, so that's why I wanted to make sure that I did bring it up and they heard about it from me," she explained. "I just thought that was the most respectful and mature way to handle that situation." She acknowledged that some people may feel hurt, but she believes knowing someone online is different from knowing them in person.
Logan's Reaction to the Revelation
Logan, 28, admitted she was bothered that Jason didn't tell her about the connection himself. "Me and Poppy both thought we had a connection there with Jason and we just thought he wouldn't have wanted to bring another girl to the farm because of that," she told 7NEWS.com.au. Logan said growing up in a small town limited her dating opportunities, which is why she applied for the show. She also revealed that she and Poppy avoid discussing their one-on-one time with Jason to keep the peace. "It is an awkward situation and there's definitely an elephant in the room but we just don't talk about it and it helps," she said.
