Jules Neale Steps Out at Australian Open After Marriage Split with AFL Star Lachie
Jules Neale's First Public Outing Since Lachie Neale Split

Jules Neale has emerged publicly for the first time since her marriage breakdown with Brisbane Lions star Lachie Neale, stepping out at the Australian Open as a special guest of Piper-Heidsieck champagne. The outing marks a significant moment following the couple's highly publicised separation late last year.

A Courtside Appearance Amid Personal Turmoil

Neale was spotted courtside for Alex de Minaur's highly anticipated clash with Carlos Alcaraz, showcasing a relaxed demeanour despite the personal challenges she has faced. She shared a playful Instagram post with her followers, captioning it: "Girls just wanna have fun.. at the AO." This lighthearted moment contrasted with the serious nature of her recent circumstances.

Stylish Outfit for Melbourne's Heatwave

Jules appeared in a matching baby pink outfit, perfectly coordinated for Melbourne's intense heatwave. She posed for photos with friend Gabrielle Morrone, who wore a matching coco-coloured set. Morrone posted on Instagram: "COMING IN HOT BABY❤️‍? AO READY @jules_neale," highlighting their stylish preparation for the event.

The Backstory of the Separation

This public appearance comes months after Lachie Neale confirmed the split in December, announcing he would step down as Brisbane Lions co-captain. In a statement, he apologised to his wife and family, saying: "I can confirm that with regret Jules and I have now separated. While I won't go into specifics, I can say that I have let my family down and I apologise for my actions, which have hurt those closest to me. For that I am deeply sorry." He expressed being "extremely disappointed" in his actions and took "full responsibility" for the end of their relationship.

Jules' Emotional Response

Days before Christmas, Jules posted on Instagram that she had been "betrayed" after reports suggested the couple were "working through" their issues. She wrote: "I want to make it very clear that I am not 'working through' anything. I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way. All I can do now is try to heal and do what's best for my children. Thank you for the love and support."

Life After the Split

Following the separation, Jules removed photos of Lachie from her Instagram and unfollowed both him and former close friend Tess Crosley. She and the couple's children—four-year-old Piper and one-year-old Freddie—have since moved back to Perth, where Neale began his AFL career with Fremantle. At the time, Lachie said his focus was on "rebuilding trust with Jules and the future wellbeing of our children."

Diverging Paths

While Jules enjoyed the tennis action at Melbourne Park, Lachie remained in Queensland as the Brisbane Lions prepare for a three-day pre-season camp on the Sunshine Coast. This geographical separation underscores the new chapter in their lives, with Jules embracing social outings and Lanche focusing on his professional commitments in the AFL.
