The left-handed opener compiled an impressive 112 runs on day two of the match, driving the Bulls to 7-352 at stumps after Victoria had declared at 9-318 late on the opening day. Renshaw's latest performance continues what has been a spectacular summer for the 29-year-old, who now leads the Shield run-scoring charts with 421 runs - 19 more than Test teammate Marnus Labuschagne.

Renshaw's Gabba century marks his third triple-figure score in the Sheffield Shield this season, following previous knocks of 128 and 101, alongside scores of 29 and 51. His rich vein of form extended to the recent ODI series against India, where he demonstrated his class with a composed 56 in Sydney.
"I'm just keeping it really simple and having a lot of fun out there and having good intent," Renshaw told AAP after his innings. "It's been a good start and hopefully it amounts to something at the end of March. I will keep trying to put in performances to help win games for Queensland."
Ashes Selection Dilemma Looms
The timing of Renshaw's century couldn't be more significant, with uncertainty surrounding Australia's opening combination for the second Ashes Test at the Gabba, beginning Thursday-week. Renshaw received strong support from his Queensland teammate and opening partner Khawaja, who recently endorsed his Test credentials. "I know if Renshaw is picked that he is in the best space right now to have a crack at Australia again and be ready to score runs," Khawaja stated late last month.
Khawaja highlighted Renshaw's previous Test experience, including his 184-run innings for Australia, and noted his teammate's improved mental approach after stepping away from external commentary about his performances.

Renshaw's century against Victoria was a masterclass in pacing an innings. He began patiently before accelerating, with his drives down the ground described as exquisite. After reaching his half-century, the runs flowed freely around the ground, culminating in his century achieved with a controlled cut for three off spinner Todd Murphy.
