Perth's Collier Park Golf Course Launches Major $19.8 Million Redevelopment
A significant transformation is now officially underway at one of Perth's most beloved public golf facilities, with the $19.8 million redevelopment of Collier Park Golf Course breaking ground. This ambitious project, jointly funded by the City of South Perth and Clublinks, aims to elevate the venue into a premier community destination while preserving its existing golf offerings.
High-Tech Features and New Amenities
The centrepiece of the upgrade is a state-of-the-art, 48-bay, double-storey driving range, equipped with advanced technology in every bay to enhance the golfing experience. In addition to this high-tech facility, the redevelopment will introduce a range of new amenities designed to attract a broader audience. These include a new restaurant and cafe, four padel courts, a versatile function and event space, an all-abilities playground, and a revamped retail area. Importantly, the existing 27-hole golf course and mini golf will remain operational, ensuring continuity for regular patrons.
Community and Leadership Perspectives
South Perth Mayor Greg Milner expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its potential to create a true community hub. "This redevelopment will enable Collier Park to become a place where quality golfing experiences sit alongside dining, leisure, and entertainment," Mr Milner said. "We aim to create an exceptional venue that caters to everyone while carefully preserving the beautiful natural environment."
Clublinks Chief Executive Anthony Lawrence emphasized the redevelopment's role in redefining public golf facilities. "Collier Park has always been a special place, and this upgrade will make it even more welcoming and community-minded," he noted. "It remains a public venue—accessible, friendly, and open to all—while creating new ways for people to discover and enjoy golf."
Collier Park General Manager Gemma Nicholson shared her excitement about broadening the venue's appeal. "We're thrilled to deliver a venue for the entire community," she said. "Whether you're here for golf, padel, or family activities, it's a beautiful setting to enjoy with loved ones."
Operational Details and Timeline
The site, owned by the City of South Perth, will continue to operate as a public facility under a 21-year lease agreement with Clublinks. Construction has commenced while the course remains open, with golf, mini golf, and existing facilities operating throughout the works. Demolition of existing buildings and a carpark extension are scheduled for completion by the end of May 2027, marking a new chapter for this iconic Perth location.
