Sunset Clarice Dominates Mandurah Oaks Final with Commanding Run
Sunset Clarice Wins Mandurah Oaks in Commanding Style

Sunset Clarice continued the sparkling start to her career with a commanding victory in the final of the Mandurah Oaks (488m) at Greyhounds WA Mandurah last Friday.

Impressive Performance from Start to Finish

The up-and-coming speedster from David Hobby's kennels entered the trophy decider as the fastest qualifier from the heats the previous week, and she lived up to her status as race favourite with a professional performance.

Sunset Clarice set up her win with a brilliant jump from box five. She swept to the front and held off the early challenge of Pam Keeping before streaking away to a big advantage in the back straight. Pam Keeping surged again in the late stages to take ground off the leader, but by that stage Sunset Clarice had the race well in hand.

Sunset Clarice sailed across the finish line to capture the silverware by a length-and-a-half in 27.52 seconds.

Consistent Winner

Sunset Clarice has now saluted in eight of her past nine attempts and has won 10 of 14 career starts overall.

The Oaks result sustained a period of success for the Nambeelup-based Hobby, who took out the Mandurah Derby with Gideon Monelli and the Lew Dorsa Memorial at Cannington with Linguine Monelli the previous weekend.
