Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra Review: A High-Performance Tablet Hits Australia
Sometimes a small phone just doesn’t cut it, but equally, neither does a big and bulky laptop. That’s part of the reason why tablets have grown in popularity over the years, offering a portable screen that you can browse, shop, watch, and even work on. The latest model to land on Aussie shores is Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, a high-performance tablet full of tech-savvy features and even AI-driven productivity.
With prices starting from $1,799 for 256GB, it’s not exactly a budget purchase, yet Aussies are rushing to get their hands on the new arrival. Rave reviews are rolling in, with many shoppers astounded by the advanced tech features. One user exclaimed, “It’s amazing how much tech is crammed into this thing.” Another praised, “One of the nicest tablets I’ve ever seen. The display itself is vibrant and huge. It is perfect for content consumption and art.”
Hands-On Experience with Tech Guru Sonny Loudon
Keen to find out exactly what the fuss is all about, tech guru Sonny Loudon put the Tab S11 Ultra to the test. Here’s exactly what he thought. From the moment he unboxed the S11 Ultra, he was impressed with how thin, large, and relatively light it was. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is a real testament to just how far tablets have come. It’s impressively huge, impossibly thin, and very, very powerful.
The screen is massive, just under 15 inches, and it genuinely feels trippy holding the tablet, which is under 5mm thick. The aluminium body is very premium, but Loudon notes it’s a bit of a fingerprint magnet. In the past, his frustrations with tablets have been that tension between them almost being a laptop but also not quite a phone. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra fixes this in many ways, thanks to the DeX system that allows side-by-side apps running simultaneously, along with the effortless integration of a second screen through the USB-C port.
Performance and Display Excellence
As far as performance goes, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is an absolute weapon. Starting with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and up to 16GB of RAM with 1TB of storage, there is more than enough power for even the most intense tasks. Loudon was editing 4K video with multiple layers and effects, and it did not skip a beat. The 15-inch display on the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is gorgeous, featuring an impressively bright 2960 x 1848 AMOLED with up to a 120Hz refresh rate. In simple terms, it looks bright, beautiful, and buttery smooth whether you’re gaming, working, or watching a movie.
The battery life is seriously impressive too, with Samsung claiming up to 23 hours of video playback. In the real world, this means you’ve got a few days worth of usage before rushing for a charger. When it is time to charge, the S11 Ultra supports up to 45W charging, which is pretty solid, going from dead to a full charge in under two hours.
AI Features and Creative Potential
Like every modern piece of tech, there are a bunch of AI features that you might use once and forget they exist. Gemini is very well integrated, and there are tools like Drawing and Writing Assist that can help with projects. While these things are technically impressive, Loudon personally thinks the real-world usefulness of some of this stuff has a long way to go, and raw human creativity still beats it hands down. That raw creativity is supported, though, by how well the included S-Pen works with drawing and sketching apps.
Loudon, who admits to being pretty average at art, found himself suddenly painting a sunset with a cup of tea and no time at all. It was really nice to find himself lost in the process for a while. The majority of users will never reach the ceiling of what the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is capable of, and in many ways, this is encouraging. In a few years time, these specs will still be more than enough for most people. So if you are looking to pick up a tablet that can handle anything you throw at it, Loudon highly recommends the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
