Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit were dispatched to Mickleham Road in Attwood around 7:00 a.m. after reports that a southbound vehicle had crossed onto the incorrect side of the road. The vehicle then collided with two other cars.

A male passenger traveling in the southbound vehicle was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The male driver and another male passenger from the same car were rushed to medical facilities with life-threatening conditions.
