A manhunt is underway in the Northern Territory after a prisoner jumped a courthouse dock and escaped custody in Darwin. Police reported that 44-year-old Brandt Graham was in the custody of courthouse security guards when he absconded from Darwin Local Court at approximately 9:50 am on Friday.
Escape Details
Graham is alleged to have scaled an enclosed glass dock, an area used to separate the accused from the rest of the courtroom during proceedings, before fleeing from G4S guards. He was last seen on CCTV walking down Tomaris Court, with some witness sightings also placing him in Doctors Gully around 10:40 am.
Charges and Description
Court documents obtained by NT News show Graham had been in court in relation to drug and firearms charges. He is described as Caucasian, approximately 185 cm tall, with a medium build, long brown hair, and a short beard. He has a tattoo on his left wrist and was last seen wearing a dark-coloured t-shirt.
Police have urged members of the public not to approach Graham and to contact Triple-Zero (000) if sighted. More updates to follow.
